A worker with La Crosse-based Fowler and Hammer works Monday to remove old grout from the masonry of a smoke stack at the former La Crosse Plow Co. building. The stack will eventually be repointed. The work is part of a larger project to restore the historic building for residential and mixed uses, such as retail, office or restaurants.
