Constructed to supply the plow industry in 1914 and exemplifying the innovative architectural design of the period, The La Crosse Plow Company operated at the site of Landmark by the Rivers for over a half-century. Boasting early-twentieth century period stylings, the complex provides an historic view into agricultural machinery and equipment manufacturing industry which was essential to the Coulee Region at that time. First recognized as a building of significance in the mid-eighties, the factory was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
